Alert! Dangerous Virus known as Agent Smith is attacking Android devices and affecting popular Android apps creating an infected replicas of them without knowledge of users.

A new virus popularly known as ‘Agent Smith virus’ is posing a great threat these days to Android phones. It has been observed that this virus replaces popular Android apps like WhatsApp,  Facebook,  Instagram etc.  by an infected version that looks exactly same as the replaced app and when someone opens up the app a pop-up add is shown first in this way this malware is earning money through clicked adds and sending it to the developers of this Virus.

As per the present stats users that are most affected by this virus are from Indian subcontinent like India,  Bangladesh,  Pakistan etc.  And also from Israel and U.S. According to one news 3-4 millions of devices are infected so far in India only.

Now a big question is this that how this virus has entered and by passed Android security features?

Actually this virus gets into Android devices when an user installs any app from third party site.  And allows rights to this app just as any other app installed from Google Play store.

Agent Smith virus is termed as one of the most dangerous malware till date that has affected and attacked Android operating system.This virus is so far known to display only pop up adds at the beginning of popular apps like Whatsapp,  Facebook etc.  And not causing any other damage to device’s functionality but still this possible threats are many like capturing sensitive financial information like passwords etc.

Users are advised not to download third party apps from any source.  Only download apps from Google play store.
